Quick answer
Bijouterie Jamil has two boutiques in Montréal: one on rue Masson in Rosemont, and one on avenue du Mont-Royal in the Plateau. You can visit us two ways: walk in during opening hours, or book a private consultation. Walk-ins are welcome for browsing, dropping off a repair, or asking a quick question. Appointments are recommended for engagement rings, custom fabrication, watch trade-ins, appraisals over $5,000, and estate gold sales (Cash4Gold). A consultation runs 30 to 90 minutes, is free, and carries no obligation. We serve clients in French, English, and Arabic.

1. Our two Montréal boutiques
Bijouterie Jamil has been on the ground in Montréal for more than 60 years. We are a family business, second generation, and we have served three generations of Québec families. Today you can meet us in two distinct boutiques, each with its own personality and the same standard of service.
Masson Boutique — Rosemont
2816 rue Masson, Montréal 514-522-2224
In the heart of the Promenade Masson, the original location. Full workshop on site, with a jeweller's bench, laser welder, and stone-setting stations. This is where Nader, our master craftsman, does the bulk of the custom work and complex repairs. If your project involves fabrication, laser welding, or a large in-person appraisal, this is the boutique to choose.
Mont-Royal Boutique — Plateau
1230 avenue du Mont-Royal Est, Montréal 514-525-8047
On avenue du Mont-Royal, easy to reach by transit or on foot. Same buying experience, same inventory, and all Cash4Gold (gold buying) transactions, engagement-ring appointments, and watch sales are possible here. Workshop work moves between the two locations as needed.
Which boutique should you visit?
| You're coming for… | Recommended boutique |
|---|---|
| Engagement ring, general browsing | Either — call whichever is convenient |
| First custom-fabrication consultation | Masson (Nader works there most of the time) |
| Complex repair, laser welding, stone setting | Masson |
| Gold buying (Cash4Gold), appraisal, watch sale | Either |
| Battery change, quick quote, repair drop-off | Whichever is closest to you |
If you're not sure, call either boutique; we'll route you to the right place in under two minutes.
Accessibility: if you have mobility needs or are arriving with a stroller, call ahead and we'll clear the entrance and consultation area for you.
If you're coming from outside Montréal — Laval, the South Shore, Québec City, or Ottawa — mention it when you book. We'll plan enough time to handle everything in one visit so you don't have to come back.
2. Walk-in or appointment: which to choose
We are not a velvet-rope boutique. You don't need an appointment to walk in, browse, ask a question, or drop off a repair. On most days, walk-ins make up about half our traffic.
That said, some visits go much better with an appointment:
- Engagement rings. You'll want a private table, our diamond inventory pulled in advance, and a jeweller who can take time to explain the 4Cs without rushing.
- Custom fabrication. A first design meeting with Nader (our master craftsman) takes 60 to 90 minutes — we have to block his bench time at the Masson boutique.
- Watch trade-ins or sales. We need time to authenticate the piece, inspect the movement, and put together a documented offer. Bring the box and papers if you have them.
- Appraisals over $5,000. This requires a senior jeweller, a calibrated scale, and quiet loupe time.
- Cash4Gold — large estates. If you're bringing a full jewellery box, multiple chains, or an inheritance, we block 45 to 60 minutes and a private counter.
For everything else — battery change, polishing quote, ring-size question, picking up a small gift — walk in to either boutique. The coffee is on us.
3. What a private consultation looks like
A private consultation is exactly what it sounds like: a quiet conversation at a table away from the main counter, with one of our specialists. No script, no pressure, no obligation. The point is to give you our full attention.
Here's the rhythm of a typical engagement-ring consultation, which is our most common request:
- Coffee and conversation (5 minutes). We ask what you have in mind, what you've already looked at, and what your partner's style is.
- Explanations (15 to 20 minutes). We walk you through the 4Cs — cut, colour, clarity, carat — with real diamonds in your hand, not on a screen. We tell you what actually matters for your budget and what is marketing.
- Selection (20 to 30 minutes). We pull pieces from our inventory and from our certified diamond suppliers. You try them on, compare side by side, and ask anything you want.
- The numbers (10 minutes). Honest pricing in Canadian dollars, taxes itemized, financing options if you want them, and a written quote you can take home.
- Next steps. If you want to think about it, you think about it. We don't follow up. If you want to move forward, we set the next step — measurement, customization, or pickup.
Consultations for custom fabrication, watch trade-ins, and gold buying follow the same calm structure — with different questions in the middle.
4. How long an appointment takes
Plan for 30 to 90 minutes, depending on what you're coming in for:
| Visit type | Typical duration |
|---|---|
| Quick browse / battery / repair drop-off | 5 to 15 min (walk-in) |
| Ring sizing or quote | 15 to 20 min |
| Engagement-ring consultation | 60 to 90 min |
| First custom-design meeting | 60 to 90 min |
| Watch trade-in evaluation | 30 to 60 min |
| Estate gold sale | 45 to 60 min |
| Insurance appraisal (per piece) | 20 to 30 min |
We never double-book consultations. If you book 60 minutes, the hour is yours.
5. What to bring
You don't need to bring much, but a few details make every visit smoother.
For an engagement-ring appointment: - Your budget in Canadian dollars, even as a range - Photos of styles you like (Pinterest, Instagram, screenshots — anything works) - Your partner's ring size if you can get it discreetly. Otherwise, bring a ring they already wear on the same finger and we'll measure it on site - Your timeline (proposal date, anniversary, holiday)
For a custom-fabrication meeting: - Reference photos - Any existing jewellery you want to incorporate (a family stone, an old setting, an inherited band) - A rough budget
For a watch trade-in or sale: - The watch, obviously - Box and papers if you have them (this raises the offer) - Government-issued photo ID - Service history if you have it
For Cash4Gold (gold buying): - Anything you want to sell, including broken pieces, single earrings, dental gold, and chains - Government-issued photo ID (required by Québec law for any precious-metal transaction)
For an appraisal: - The piece - Any existing certificate (GIA, IGI) or prior appraisal - The original invoice if you have it
6. Languages spoken
We serve clients in French, English, and Arabic every day. Several team members also speak Italian, Spanish, and a bit of Greek and Armenian. If you prefer a specific language, mention it when you book and we'll match you with the right person.
For our Québec clientele, French is always the default. For international clients flying in — and we get many during engagement season — tell us your preferred language and the consultation will feel natural from the first hello.
7. Reserving a piece to see in store
If you've seen a piece on bjamil.com or fiancailles.ca that you'd like to try on, we can hold it for you for up to 48 hours. Call either boutique (514-522-2224 for Masson, 514-525-8047 for Mont-Royal), email us, or use the contact form on the product page. Tell us which boutique you want to try it at, and we'll move the piece if needed.
We confirm by phone or email, set the piece aside in our display tray, and pull a few similar options so you can compare in person. No fee, no obligation.
This is especially useful for: - Higher-value engagement rings you want to see before deciding - Watches you want to handle and try on the wrist - Online pieces you want to compare to similar styles
For engagement rings, you can also read our engagement ring budget guide and our article on how to choose an engagement ring before your visit, so the consultation is faster and more focused.
8. The atmosphere
We are not a chain. The lighting is warm. The music is quiet. The coffee is real. No commission salesperson follows you around, no "manager's discount" script. If you need ten minutes alone with a ring to think, we leave you alone with the ring.
That's how the Khazzoum family has run Bijouterie Jamil from the start, and that's how we plan to keep running it — in both boutiques.
FAQ
How many Bijouterie Jamil locations are there in Montréal? Two. The original boutique on rue Masson in Rosemont (2816 rue Masson, 514-522-2224) and our boutique on avenue du Mont-Royal in the Plateau (1230 av. du Mont-Royal Est, 514-525-8047). Both offer the same service and the same inventory.
Which boutique should I visit first? For most visits — browsing, engagement rings, gold buying, watches — either one works. Pick whichever is closer or more convenient. For custom fabrication, stone setting, and laser welding, choose the Masson boutique: that's where our main workshop is.
Do I need an appointment to visit Bijouterie Jamil? No. Walk-ins are welcome during opening hours for browsing, repair drop-offs, battery changes, or small purchases. We recommend an appointment for engagement rings, custom fabrication, watch trade-ins, appraisals over $5,000, and estate gold sales.
How do I book a private consultation? Call the boutique of your choice (514-522-2224 for Masson, 514-525-8047 for Mont-Royal), email us, or use the booking form on bjamil.com. Tell us the type of visit (engagement ring, custom, watch, gold buying, appraisal), your preferred date and time, your phone number, and your preferred language. We confirm within one business day.
What are your opening hours? Monday to Wednesday: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday and Friday: 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday: closed. Both boutiques keep the same hours.
What languages are spoken at Bijouterie Jamil? We serve clients in French, English, and Arabic every day. Other languages spoken by team members include Italian, Spanish, and a bit of Greek and Armenian. Mention your preferred language when you book.
Can you hold an online piece so I can try it in store? Yes. We can reserve any piece from bjamil.com or fiancailles.ca for up to 48 hours, free of charge and with no obligation to buy. Tell us which boutique you'd like to try it at.
Is a private consultation or appraisal charged? Private consultations are free. Verbal estimates for gold buying and trade-ins are free. Written insurance appraisals are a paid service — typically $50 to $150 per piece depending on complexity — and the rate is quoted before we start.
Do I need to bring ID? For browsing, no. For any gold-buying or precious-metal sale, government-issued photo ID is required by Québec law. For appraisals and trade-ins, ID is requested but not always mandatory.
