One hundred years after the Oyster changed watchmaking, Rolex returns to its origin — and rewrites it. The maison's 2026 releases at Watches and Wonders Geneva mark a centenary collection, and Bijouterie Jamil welcomes them in Montréal.
In 1926, Rolex patented the Oyster: the first truly waterproof wristwatch case, and the quiet invention that would anchor a century of horology. At Watches and Wonders Geneva 2026, the maison has gathered every new release under a single banner — The Oyster Story — a centenary collection that looks less like a relaunch and more like a homecoming.
This is a quieter year than the 2025 debut of the Land-Dweller. In place of a new family, Rolex has refined what it already owns. The result is a collection that rewards a closer look — and one we are honoured to introduce to our Montréal clientele at Bijouterie Jamil.
The Centenary Oyster Perpetual 41
The emotional anchor of the release. A 41-millimetre Oyster Perpetual in yellow Rolesor — Oystersteel case and bracelet, yellow gold bezel and crown — finished with a slate dial whose minute track and Rolex signature are picked out in the maison's signature green. At six o'clock, a single inscription: 100 years. Nothing more, and nothing needed.
Oyster Perpetual 28 and 34 — Markers Carved From Stone
For the first time in Rolex's history, applied hour markers are carved directly from natural stone rather than cast in metal. The 28-millimetre model, in solid 18-carat yellow gold, carries a green stone-lacquer dial with heliotrope indices at three, six, and nine o'clock. The 34-millimetre variant trades heliotrope for dumortierite — a deep, almost oceanic blue — against a matching lacquered field. Small watches, enormous craft.
Oyster Perpetual 36 — A Jubilee Dial of Letters
The most playful release of the year. A multi-coloured Jubilee-motif dial composed entirely of the letters R · O · L · E · X, a visual celebration of the house's own dial-making archives. Quiet from the wrist. Arresting up close.
Datejust 41 — Green Ombré
A new dial configuration, exclusive to the Datejust 41 in Oystersteel and white Rolesor with the white-gold fluted bezel. Deep green at the centre, fading to black at the edge — a gradient that changes with the light and never sits still.
Day-Date — A New Gold Named Jubilee
For the centenary, Rolex has developed a brand-new 18-carat alloy, produced entirely in-house: Jubilee gold. Its tone sits between tender yellow, warm grey, and soft pink — not quite rose, not quite yellow, not quite white. Introduced, fittingly, on the Day-Date: the president's watch, dressed for the occasion.
Yacht-Master II — Completely Redesigned
The Yacht-Master II returns with an all-new case and an all-new movement: calibre 4162, built to drive the regatta chronograph. Available in Oystersteel or yellow gold, paired with a white dial and blue Cerachrom bezel. A programmable countdown runs along the flange; a small seconds sits at six. A technical watch rebuilt from the inside out.
Cosmograph Daytona — Rolesium, For the First Time
Rolex has introduced Rolesium — an Oystersteel case paired with platinum components — to the Cosmograph Daytona for the first time. A quiet evolution of the most collected chronograph in watchmaking.
A Tighter Standard
Behind every watch in the 2026 collection stands a tightened Superlative Chronometer certification. Rolex has quietly raised its own accuracy benchmark — a reminder that the Oyster has always been about more than the depths it can reach.
