How do chargebacks and payment disputes work?

Quick answer

A chargeback is when you ask your bank to reverse a charge instead of asking us for a refund. It's a real consumer right and we respect it — but it's slow (30 to 90 days) and irreversible once filed. If something is wrong with your order, contact us first. We resolve almost every issue within 1 to 3 business days, much faster than the bank dispute process.

When a chargeback makes sense

  • You suspect actual fraud (someone used your card without permission)
  • You can't reach the merchant after multiple attempts
  • The merchant refuses to honour a clear refund right

When to contact us first instead

  • Order arrived damaged, late, or wrong item
  • You changed your mind (we have a return policy — see returns)
  • You see a duplicate charge
  • You don't recognize the merchant name on your statement (it appears as "BIJOUTERIE JAMIL" or "BJAMIL MTL")

What happens if you file a chargeback

  1. Your bank temporarily reverses the charge.
  2. The bank notifies us and asks for evidence (order, shipping proof, communications).
  3. We respond with the documentation we have on file.
  4. The card network (Visa, Mastercard, Amex) makes the final decision in 30 to 90 days.
  5. The decision is binding.

What to have ready (for any dispute)

  • Order number
  • Card last 4 digits
  • Date of the charge
  • A short description of the issue
  • Any photos or screenshots
